Our recruiting office at Central Alabama Community College’s Childersburg campus helps students and local residents learn how the Alabama Army National Guard can support their education and career goals. Guard service is part time and designed to fit around your class schedule. It’s a practical path to service that starts right on campus in Talladega County.
Members can earn state and federal tuition assistance, GI Bill eligibility, competitive part-time pay, health and dental coverage options and VA home loan eligibility. The hands-on training you receive can also prepare you for skilled careers in fields like logistics, mechanics, healthcare and IT. Because drill is part time, you can keep working toward your certificate or degree without interruption.
Serving in the Guard means joining a team of Soldiers who support one another and stand ready for Talladega County, Alabama and the nation whenever they’re needed. It’s a family of warriors who balance school, work and service, and who take pride in supporting their community and each other.
