For Birmingham-area residents looking to build technical skills, the Alabama Army National Guard armory on West Oxmoor Road is a gateway to careers in communications, IT, mechanics and more. It’s a local place to train and serve part time while keeping your civilian life on track. It’s service that builds the skills a growing metro needs.
Guard members keep their jobs or continue their studies at schools like Lawson State Community College, while earning state and federal tuition assistance, GI Bill eligibility, health and dental coverage options, VA home loan eligibility and competitive part-time pay. Because service is part time, you can keep growing your civilian career while adding skills and certifications employers want.
Soldiers who train here become part of a team that supports one another and stands ready for the Birmingham metro, Alabama and the nation whenever they’re needed. Why serve in a conventional way when you can serve on your terms, alongside a family of warriors from across the metro?
